....beautiful older bdy off, frame up restoration, an exquisite pale vanilla white with red piping and red leather seats. A true jewel of a classic sports car.
Excellet mechanicals, runs and drives very well. No smoke, excellent oil pressure, strong performance. New wiring, mostly new electrics, excellent chrome, tan canvas top and side curtains, nicely detailed engine bay, may not be a top national show winner but rather for the kind of local low key show I love to attend.
And is spotless top and bottom other than a few VERY minor paint imperfections, so small it requires very close inspection to seem them. Shall we call this car a 'two footer?'
With its folding windshield, wire wheels, soft leather seats, and beautiful detailing, this TF is one of the nicer cars we have seen in a while. Will cruise all day at 60-70 mph, incredibly light and precise steering, sure braking, and soft yet controlled ride. And built during a period when 'made in England' was the hallmark of quality throughout the world.
My last Porsche was a nice Carrera Targa and I loved the precision feel of the Teutonic engineering. But the oil dipstick? A bent wire. While the TF has a cast aluminum top with the MG octagon. Classy.
And an adjustable steering column. And finned cast aluminum oil sump (shaded of Bugatti?). No doubt about it. MGs were NEVER cheap. Inexpensive, maybe, but never 'cheap.' And this is a wonderful example capable of giving many years of enjoyable use.
