A rust free Florida car just finished a LOT of preparation and restoration work.
Very straight body with excellent door and seam fit, just stripped and painted in Old English White, wet sanded and buffed, mostly new chrome and trim, new fender and light seals, excellent rust free chassis, excellent (presumed original) floors, looks great, top and bottom
ALL new interior in deep red, leather seats (with new foam padding), new matching panels and carpets, dash completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal and recovered in matching material. New top, very good older tonneau and side curtains, complete trunk carpet kit.
Excellent drive train: 155 psi compression in every cylnder,70-75 psi oil pressure, no smoke (all bascially 'as new'), excellent clutch and trans, no play in the steering or front end, brakes completely rebuilt (new stainless steel caliper pistons, new seals, new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder), fairly new radial tires on wire wheels, all gauges and lights work, wiring harness looks to be in excellent condition, carbs just completely rebuilt (virtually no wear on throttle shafts but gummed up with varnish, hence complete disassembly and rebuilding), And runs and drives like new.
We were told this car has 24,000 original miles and was stored for most of its life. We have absolutely no way of confirming these representatons BUT such things as chassis, sills, trunk floor, wiring harness, gauge chrome bezels, etc. are SOOOOOOO clean, it is (we suppose) possible.
Either way, this is one of the nicest MGAs we have had for sale and all of our employees (and anyone else who has seen the car) is truly amazed at how well the colors work (this after having a zillion BRG and red MGas, all with black or tan interiors). And in every other way, iti doesn't disappoint.
