Three owners, last owner for 30+ years, excellent rust and bondo free body that was restored in 1984 and little used since, beautiful red paint, perfect floors and sills, excellent subframes, full Alley bar roll cage, new Minilite alloy wheels with Yokohama 165/70 008 super high performance radials, rebuilt blueprinted modified engine with BMC 643 race camshaft, cam timed with degree wheel, belt drive timing gears, tuftrided crank, fully balanced, standard bore, 11 stud Cooper S head modified by Richard Longman, new (NOT rebuilt) HS4 1 1/2" SU carbs, new LCB headers, brand new transmission with high ratio 3.26 differential, Corbeau seats, fender flares, all new chrome, seals, trim, etc, rust free trunk floor, dry suspension, Alfin rear drums, racing battery cut off switch on the floor, oil cooler with Aeroquip lines, smaller steering wheel, steering column reclining bracket, racing belts, air horns, extra fuses, rear wiper, twin pipe ANSA 'performance' exhaust, Spax adjustable shocks, negative camber front lower control arms, adjustable rear camber, alloy rocker cover, after market dash with extra instruments, new window tracks, solid state ignition, twin electrics fuel pumps for the ultimate in reliability, two new fuel tanks, new trunk deck panel, a sensational, fast, phenomenal car with steering and handling second to none (ok, maybe a tie with a well sorted Lotus Elan).
Hard not to sing the tune from the original 'Italian Job' movie (with Michael Caine, Benny Hill, and Noel Coward)....what fun. Fast, incredible steering, legendary handling, sure braking, and with a virtually perfect body and subframes, a fresh expensively done engine, new trans, new wheels and tires, and soooooooooooo much more done, should be a reliable, enjoyable, fabulous road, race, rally, and show car.
