A pleasant 'find.' A two owner, 81,000 original mile MGB, unmolested, mostly original other than new interior (with leather seats) and painted eight years ago. Wire wheels, new top, one of the nicest unrestored Bs we have ever had.

Eight years ago, when painted, car was completely 'derusted' with new factory floor pans professionally welded into position. Went over the lower edges of the body, rockers, and lower parts of the doors with my trusty kitchen magnet and found no indication of bondo. Door and panel fit are all near perfect and the overall 'look' is of a beautiful, original B. AND there are not too many early steel dash MGBs with no bondo, new floors, and as original as this car is. VERY few.

Excellent running, no smoke, 65 psi oil pressure, 145 to 155 psi compression in every cylinder, carbs seem nicely tuned (we just checked mixture and set balance), trans works well with excellent synchomesh action (other than a tiny bit slow downshifting into second), wire wheels look to be in excellent condition, a fairly new set of radial tires, new radiator, very good original wiring harness, new clutch hydraulics, all gauges work, new muffler, new battery, premium luggage rack, original AM radio, perfect trunk floor, carpeted trunk, new front bumper and guards while the rest of the chrome is original and very good.

Everything works, shocks passed the bounce test, doors don't sag, even has its original seat belts with the MG octagonal logo on each buckle. A very nice touch.

We usually have Bs that have had a lot of restoration work and yes, they are very nice cars. But this example is the kind that is so hard to find....a nice, clean, original car that has been babied, garaged, and underwent the work the last owner deemed essential. Now with very nice paint, new interior, perfect floors, running and driving like new, it would be very hard to duplicate.

What else? Well, this 98hp disc braked sports GOES! Quick, precise steering, excellent brakes, smooth ride, and great 'feel.' A lot of car for the money.
