....a wonderful low mileage car, last (local) owner since 1976, ALWAYS garaged and babied.

51,000 genuine miles since new....gorgeous in red with black interior. Spotless underneath and in every nook and cranny...inside the doglegs, inside the rear quarters, around the back axle, under the floors, inside the sills...this is a sensational Healey.

Some of the work done during restoration: new ANSA exhaust, front and rear suspensions rebuilt, underside sandblasted, original undercoating removed, and painted to match the exterior, new wiring harness, clutch hydraulics replaced, exterior redone in 2002: stripped to bare metal, all bondo removed, panels straighted by hand, all body panels removed and painted off the car, looks great.

Fuel system completely replaced in 2006 (fuel lines and pump, etc.). Top and tonneau are excellent, original wood dash is not perfect but very very nice, chrome is excellent throughout, runs and drives at least as good as 'new.'

IF you are unfamiliar with the virtues of this last and (to some people) best of the Healey marque, it is: simple, sturdy, reliable...great on the highway as the big 3 liter engine just purrs and the fun of flicking it into o'drive and watching the revs drop. Comfortable, very very stylish....what else is there in a great classic? Fun to drive, great to look at, simple to service, and inherently reliable. A perfect combination.

It is so nice to have a nice classic with contemporary performance...one can actually USE this car....'round town, back country roads, or (where it is at its best) long highway drives. A lot of fun getting up to cruising speeds, clicking in the overdrive, watching the revs (and engine noises) drop, and feeling the excellent torque of the big ol' Healey engine. A genuine delight.

Or think of this car as a big MGB. Either way, this is an excellent example of the marque and model.
