Really the best of the best...rebuilt 1600cc twin Weber engine, 5 speed trans, four wheel disc brakes, a nice, fun, exciting exotic of the mid sixties
A LOT of work has been done. We got the car from a fella who was well into a restoration. With expensive new stayfast cloth top, all new interior, new paint, freshly rebuilt engine...and then put the car away for storage. We got the car....50 ps oil pressure on the starter, 80 psi when running, no smoke, 150 psi compression in every cylinder (and now that we have put on maybe 40-50miles, 175 psi in every cylinder...absolutely perfect), cams timed properly and appearing to be brand new, quiet valves. Just rebuilt? We think so.
Trans was removed, new seals fitted, inspected, differential completely rebuilt with new bearings, back axle rebuilt with new bearings and seals, the original Dunlop disc brake assembly has been tossed and updated with new superior ATE components...new calipers, rotors, flex lines, new master cylinder (this cost well over $3,500 including parts and labor but the brakes are now first rate), even new wheel studs. Rebuilt front end...all new bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends.
Moving along...heater disassembled and rebuilt, new air ducting, all gauges rebuilt and fitted with new senders, new mechanical and electric fuel pumps, Webers rebuilt, fuel tank cleaned, lots of minor new parts. And the car has a good working stereo, 12 disc CD changer, new speakers, new seat belts, halogen headlights, new plastic headlight covers, very good original bumpers and trim, steerng box checked and adjusted, cooling system flushed, new thermostat, high output shrouded electric cooling fan, we even polished the air ducting and cam cover.
Paint looked fairly new, now wet sanded and buffed, ready for show. Really came out great.
A TON of work done to make a sensational example of this beautiful, rare (one of only 6325 built) Alfa.
