rust free Texas car, just rebuilt engine and transmission, high compression head, 4 speed all synchro trans with perfectly working overdrive (giving six forward ratios), fairly new paint (a few chips and/or spots touched up but generally quite nice), mostly new interior, wire wheels, new top, rebuilt suspension and brakes, beautifully detailed, what most people might call 'completely restored.'
We say it is a lovely MGB (I tend to think the word 'restored' is a bit overused in the world of classic cars). And, although a 1970 might not have the advantage of the nice early metal dashboards, they do have such refrinements as dual circuit brakes, alternator, negative ground electrical system, wiper and light controls on the column stalks, more safety equipment, a stronger back axle.....a lot of other important improvements.
The floor pan is virtually perfect as is the trunk floor. No rust or signs of repair. Paint has a few very minor flaws but has an excellent appearance. Just got a new front bumper and guards, dash is perfect, interior is close to 'as new.'
We even just replaced the original octagonal wheel nuts with proper chrome knock offs. All in all a really sensational MGB.
And really the best bargain in a modestly priced classic car. Hence, in my own collection, having a '64, '67, '68, and '73 B. Is four too many to own?
