...a superb and probably unique example (for this side of the Atlantic) of this incredible SUPER high performance sports/sedan.

Excellent competition body (with no sunroof), new black paint (not serious show quality but, to my eye, quite nice), all of the Cosworth body pieces and bumpers, louvered original Cosworth bonnet, correct whale tale, just rebuilt (under 1,000 miles since the work was completed...this engine was built to a high level using the best components available and professionally blueprinted) 2.0 liter Cosworth YB engine with steel crank and con rods, new Wiseco forged pistons (of a special design made for this car), sixteen valve twin cam, Group A head gasket, 42 pound injectors, 3 bar map sensor, Garrett turbo, Weber-Marelli fuel injection, 3” downpipe with custom fabricated stainless steel 3” exhaust (I am told it took the last owner a hundred hours or more of painstaking fabrication to create this masterpiece), new Cosworth RS500 aluminum intercooler (the size of a truck radiator), new Cosworth alloy radiator, probably around 350-375hp...maybe more (running at 24 to 28 psi boost) with the capability of up to 650 hp, new clutch, rebuilt 5 speed ‘World Class’ special close ratio T5 gearbox, Group A driveshaft, Ferguson viscous drive limited slip differential, four wheel disc brakes, huge four piston front calipers, all new slotted cross drilled disc rotors, Koni shocks, new lowered springs, Powermax rear control arm bushings, polyurethane front bushings, special Cosworth sway bars, 7 ½” by 16” light alloy wheels with new Bridgestone Pole Position super high speed Z rated 205/50 front and 225/45 rear radials, European head and driving lights, new front fog lights built into front bumper, new oil cooler mounted behind bumper, 3 quart Accusump oiling system, remote oil filter, all custom made Aeroquip oil lines with pressure fittings, Racetech oil pressure and water temperature and turbo boost gauges in center console, 170 mph Cosworth speedo, oil temp and ammeter, digital fuel mixture gauge, high quality stereo/CD unit with 12 disc CD changer, new alarm system, heated leather Recaro seats, power mirrors and windows, variable rate power steering, heated rear window, rear wiper/washer, front and rear strut tower stabilizer bars, battery switch in center console (neat installation), Halon fire system with actuation pull on dashboard, Motolita steering wheel, air horns, battery relocated into rear compartment, AND A LOT MORE.

There is nothing quite like this car on American roads. A true 175-185 mph superSUPER car with Porsche turbo 930 or Ferrari-like acceleration and top speed. With awesome handling and braking. (and with a bigger turbo and some other tweaks, a top speed substantially higher...) ALL FROM ONLY 2 LITERS!

Prepared using the best components from U.S. racing parts suppliers and English Cosworth parts suppliers, this super rare LHD Cosworth RS Sierra is sooooooooo fast and pulls soooooooooo well up to 7,500 rpm, it makes almost any other car seem dull in comparison.

Note (and this is important): Cosworth RS Sierras are not subject to legal importation to the U.S. and this car is legally (papers, chassis number, etc.) a 1985 Merkur. To deal with the U.S. regulations, virtually all of the mechanical parts of a U.K. spec Cossie were stripped from the car, imported to the U.S., rebuilt and installed in a rare 'competition' Merkur body which was then changed to Sierra looks with the inclusion of the distinctive side windows. And all of the correct Cosworth body panels.

Yes, a lot of hassle but the result is as close as one could get to having one of these potent road racers legally on the road in the U.S. Passes emission tests (and is fitted with a new Cat).

Mileage on the car is unknown as the speedo is from a UK Sierra (with a maximum indicated speed of 170 mph).

Of course, what is really incredible is that this supercar is an absolute pussycat around town. Smooth, responsive, tractible, and appearing to be very mild. But open the throttles and watch the boost go up and the pussycat is transformed into am incredibly potent super high performance sedan.
(at the moment, we have the boost set for a mild 15 psi which, I have been told, would produce around 275hp. IT HAS NOT been on a dyno so these quotes on power are pure guesswork)

Ride, handling, and overall 'feel' are sensational. The car feels beautifully balanced with light, precise steering. And, of course, when the throttle is depressed...even a little...it feels like a rocket has been ignited. Quite a rush. IN fact, I have never driven a car like this...VERY IMPRESSIVE.

Did the car for my own use...decided my days of driving at crazy speeds on the road were over (hence concentrating on crazy speeds on the track)...so...my loss can be your gain. AND YES...interesting trades are more than welcome.

What do you have?

(further note....have begun to drive the car, a bit, and even with a fresh, tight engine, it is a blast to drive. We have it set for a maximum of around 15 psi boost...less than half the capability...and it is extremely fast. Feels like it would leave either my Porsche 911 Carrera or BMW Z3 2.8 (neither being a slouch) in the dust. With far superior braking and handling. What is really amazing is top gear acceleration...a light touch on the throttle, watch the boost go up to around 7 or 8 or 9psi and the car flies. Only a few seconds from 60 to 100 mph. Like nothing I have ever driven. And to think......24, 28 or more psi?)

So far, EXACTLY ONCE, I 'opened it up' on a winding road. Not far from my house. The results were dazzling...easy to throw sideways through corners, great acceleration, sure braking, and remarkably easy to control at the limit. Very impressive.
