SORT OF one of a kind,. 11,000 DOCUMENTED miles since new, excellent body, wood framing, chassis, remarkably well preserved original paint, very good original leather seats, same with chrome, trim, weather equipment, etc. BUT with around 50 miles on a freshly rebuilt original engine (yes, numbers match), transmission, rebuilt SUs (with original air cleaner) all new brakes, new clutch, new brake master cylinder, new brake flex lines, new rear shocks and links, new seals in rear end, new stainless steel exhaust, on and on.
Incredible.
If you seek `originality` in a classic MG........hard to beat this one. Starts easily, runs flawlessly, drives wonderfully, all original instruments and switches, as a `survivor` an ideal car for car shows, as a fun around the neighborhood and country road, just about perfect. AND even had what could be its original AM radio (and it works).
The story: a HS graduation present for a woman from a wealthy family in NY who also summered on Cape Cod. Car was used until 1969 (note last MA inspection sticker), then stored at their Cape house. A local restoration shop (specializing in older British cars) took possession, rebuilt engine, trans, carbs, brakes, axle seals, and replaced some chrome. And also a new matching maroon tonneau cover. Since then, driven maybe 50 miles. And as the title shows, the 11,000 original miles are authentic.
