Bought the car from an owner who owned it for 25 years, he purchased the car from his sister who owned for 20 years....so, one family ownership for 45 years. And always garaged.
It just turned 57,000 original miles and was clearly always babied and garaged. Absolutely no rust underneath (no patches or undercoating), excellent body which appears to be original red paint. At the spots where there are few small chips, it is down to the bare metal. And, after two days of wet sanding and buffing, it appears to be almost like new.
Chrome appears to have been rechromed or replaced as it all beautiful. And the interior, in camel= with white piping, also appears to be all new. All correct gauges and switches, all work properly.
Engine is strong, around 100hp with lots of torque. Perfect compression and oil pressure, no smoke cold or hot. Excellent idle and the carbs seem to be in good tune. Gearbox has very good synchromesh action, brakes pull straight and the steering, often a weak point on TR3s, is unusually good. Even goes down the road with hands off, no pulling or wandering.
Top and side curtains are all in good condition and has a tonneau. Engine bay is very clean, wiring looks very good, and the overall impression is of a properly serviced, garaged, completely rust free classic sports car.
