To me, this car has the 'best stuff' for an excellent, all around MGA.

Was brought to us by an older customer........a nice, fairly clean, unrestored car. Which we rebuilt and restored over a six month period,

Arrived in its original white paint, now repainted in a lovely MG British Racing Green, fenders and doors removed for paintwork, 5 coats of base coat acrylic color, 3 coats of clear, hand wet sanded and buffed. New fender beading. All new rubber seals and mostly new chrome. All new interior in tan, recovered dash, new tan carpets, new panels, etc. And a brand new top, side curtain and tonneau.

We supplied and rebuilt the perfect engine for an MGA.....a fairly rare early 1800cc B engine (1963-1965) which (like all MGA engines) retains the block mounted tach drive (and original mechanical tachometer). More power (rated at 95hp, only a few less than a late model MGA twin cam), more torque, better flexibility and performance. With rebuilt twin SU carbs, Also the transmission was completely overhauled.

Rebuilt all of the brakes (discs in front), new master cylinders and all hydraulics, excellent wiring and electrics, all gauges work properly (we even gradated the fuel gauge for accuracy), has wire wheels with fairly new radials of the proper size, spotless trunk compartment, new aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan, new oil cooler with Aeroquip lines and pressure fittings, and a small thicker leather steering wheel.

The result is just about the best overall classic British sports car. Sturdy mechanicals, inherently reliable and easy to service, will cruise all day at 80+ mph (with a top speed about 100 mph), great steering and handling, sure brakes, comfortable ride, and (best of all) those beautiful MGA lines.

Wrong engine? Lets be candid, with 101,000 MGAs built, they will never attain the million dollar range in the collector's car field. BUT with the larger, more powerful engine (which is visually identical to the original 1600 engine), makes an MGA just a better car to drive. And since the car's original engine had a 1600 casting on the side, for no extra cost, we will gladly grind down the top of the '8' in the car's 1800 casting and nobody will ever know or care.

The owner who had the car restored became quite ill, NEVER drove the car, it is now in our showroom and available for immediate sale. As with all of our cars, we can service anything for a local customer, can arrange transport most anywhere (we just sold two MGBs to a customer in Uruguay), and even have a title and tag service which can arrange registration and titling in all fifty states.
